My contemporary semi-abstract paintings deal with relationships and connection, to a person, a place, a time, a memory, and with nature. These works conjure up emotions through the exploration of experimental textures, collage, pattern and elements of mixed media. Vast open spaces question who is on the other side, backgrounds are rendered in soft blended palettes which examine innermost introversions with a sense of peace. Glimmers of metallics and their lustrous surfaces represent hope and optimism.
Flocks of birds in flight symbolizing relationships, friendships and communities stretch across the open skies, their feathers falling, drifting and floating on the surface of water, tokens of a new renaissance, reminding us to realize the moment, and revel in its gift.
We are small in the universe yet connected and integral to something much bigger.
“You are a guest of nature - behave” Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
