The Other Side: Bringing to Light the Stories of Immigrants in Houston
Join three singer/songwriters from Houston’s immigrant community for an intimate concert. Saint Melanin, the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, is a rising indie soul singer whose latest release “Denial” blends pop flavors with smooth, delicate vocals.
Cuban singer/songwriter Charly Siaba studied at Amadeo Roldan Conservatory specializing in classical guitar. The influence of Cuban and foreign music is implicit in his songs, working in all genres from Trova and Bolero to Funk and Blues.
Brazilian-American musician Lucas Magnus Andrade takes us on a musical journey to rural Brazil with gorgeous bossa nova-inspired acoustic songs in Portuguese.
