Thoughtful Indulgence

Most adults can agree, life would be much more difficult if it wasn't for coffee or chocolate. The simple, kind and welcoming invitation of either is something that has been shared by all cultures for many ages. The complexities and diversity of the flavors, textures, forms and varieties of either delectable are as numerous as human emotions. But they are not only appreciated for their taste. The combination of the two are what inspired the 2025 Pantone Color of the Year, "Mocha Mousse".

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director Pantone Color Institute, writes:

“Underpinned by our desire for everyday pleasures, Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.”

With these qualities and colors in mind, the artists of Sabine Street Studios present Thoughtful Indulgence, featuring works evoking moments of reflection and calmness. The works range from literal interpretations, such as scenes of cafes, restaurants, and moments of leisure in parks or plazas, to abstract and intuitive works, using colors such as Mocha Mousse to recreate the richness and harmony that defines a well prepared mousse. The exhibition as a whole emits an overall feeling of comfort, self introspection, and warmth.

Join the artists for a public reception on May 22, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Thoughtful Indulgence is on view and open to the public Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
